The 70th Congress of the Association des Bibliothécaires de France – ABF is held from 11 to 13 June 2025 at Paris Montreuil Expo (128 rue de Paris, 93100 Montreuil) on the theme: Libraries and Critical Thinking.
At a time when there is an overabundance of information, when it is constructed and circulates freely, when the regulatory neutrality of librarians can be shaken by current events, and when the increasing complexity of the world makes it impossible to understand it without intermediaries whom we can trust, it is important to rebuild the legitimacy of libraries as places of trust to support the individual journey of the public towards enlightened autonomy.
This event is intended for professionals and is accessible by registration.
Cartooning for Peace is participating in the roundtable discussion “Draw Me… Critical Thinking” on June 12th from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., in partnership with the Intermédia78 association:
Intermédia78, supported by the Drac-Ile de France (Regional Directorate for Cultural Affairs), is offering a traveling residency for press cartoonists in partnership with Cartooning for Peace. Around ten municipalities in the Yvelines region benefits from training in press cartooning, bringing together librarians and teachers, an exhibition, and workshops led by press cartoonists. Press cartooning, which allows as many people as possible to be informed, sharpen their thinking, exercise their freedom of expression, and engage in open debate, is a fundamental tool for developing critical thinking!
