21st September 2025

As part of the 75th anniversary of the European Convention on Human Rights and the 30th anniversary of the Human Rights Building, the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) will open its doors to the public on Sunday 21 September 2025.

This day will be an opportunity for visitors to discover the Palace of Human Rights and learn about the importance of the Convention: its history, the scope of the fundamental rights and freedoms it protects, its impact on individuals, as well as how the Court works, its field of activity and the challenges it faces.

Cartooning for Peace is presenting an exhibition designed especially for this anniversary, with the support of the ECHR. Through cartoons from around the world, it illustrates the main principles of this convention, which aims to protect human rights and fundamental freedoms at a time when they are under particular threat.
