To mark the release of the book ‘La bascule du monde – Regards croisés de photographes et dessinateurs de presse (co-edited by Cartooning for Peace and Emmanuelle Hascoët, with a preface by Pierre Haski and published by La Martinière in partnership with Amnesty International), Cartooning for Peace and the Jean Jaurès Foundation are organising a round table discussion on 28 October, from 7pm to 8.30pm, at the Jean Jaurès Foundation with:

  • Pierre Haski, journalist and president of Reporters Without Borders
  • Emmanuelle Hascoët, exhibition curator and artistic director of photography
  • Édouard Elias, photojournalist
  • Kak, press cartoonist and president of Cartooning for Peace

Faced with the staggering reality of a world in turmoil, in decline and causing concern, the power of words and images in journalism helps us to realise that we are living through a pivotal and historic moment. How can journalists, photographers and cartoonists describe the times we live in?

The conference will be moderated by Sarah Proust, an expert associated with the Jean-Jaurès Foundation.
