Reporters Without Borders (RSF) is launching a new report compiling all the content from its Propaganda Monitor project, a dedicated website that exposes propaganda and disinformation mechanisms in order to better combat them.
“Moscow has long dreamed of silencing any alternative to its worldview. And the international context favours this ambition. Donald Trump’s decision on 14 March 2025 to dismantle the US Agency for Global Media (USAGM) was welcomed by the Kremlin: fewer independent voices means more space for its narratives. But with Propaganda Monitor, the idea is simple: we must regain control in the face of propaganda. The ambition is clear: to give citizens the keys to understanding so that they are not subjected to discourse that serves certain interests and spreads and reproduces itself with disconcerting agility.”
Thibaut Bruttin, Director General of RSF
This publication, devoted to the Kremlin’s strategies in Russia and internationally, is illustrated by cartoonists from the Cartooning for Peace network. It also features an exclusive interview with Russian cartoonist Denis Lopatin, who has been in exile in France since 2018, who testifies to the seriousness of the situation.
