On 8 March 2023, International Women’s Rights Day is celebrated, as it is every year, throughout the world. This day, officialized by the UN in 1977, offers the opportunity to highlight the fight for women’s emancipation, to celebrate its victories and to make its current demands heard.
Digital access and education for women is specifically highlighted for the 2023 edition, placed under the theme of “Innovation and technology for gender equality: for an inclusive digital world.” The right to education is particularly relevant today, as schoolgirls in Iran are being poisoned in their schools and in Afghanistan schools have been closed by the Taliban.
