JEAN GOUDERS

Jean Gouders is a Dutch press cartoonist, editorial illustrator and graphic novel author. He is a retired art teacher and worked for 34 years in a specialised institute for children with behavioural disorders. In addition, he has worked since 1986 as an editorial illustrator for several educational magazines and, since 1990, as a political cartoonist for several media outlets: Limburger, BN de Stem, Queer magazine, Courrier international and Expresso. In recent years, he has adapted several historical accounts into graphic novels. These include two biographical stories about black American soldiers in the Second World War and their experiences in the US Army, which was completely segregated at the time.
