The spectacular success of the ChatGPT conversational robot, launched at the end of 2022, has revealed a sample of the possibilities offered by artificial intelligence (AI): for better or for worse? Awareness of the need to establish a framework for the development of AI seems to be accelerating.
This technological advance raises vast ethical, legal, political, economic and environmental issues… human issues, in short, as it disrupts every sphere of our lives.
In 2024, Cartooning for Peace published the book ‘Artificial Intelligence: a (r)evolution?!’ 120 international press cartoons.
In 2025, the association is developing a new teaching tool, in response to numerous requests from education professionals interested in this theme.
DEVELOPMENT OF A NEW EDUCATIONAL PROJECT: « Artificial Intelligence, Rights Ahead!»
Through this new educational tool, Cartooning for Peace aims to present a series of press cartoons from around the world as a basis for debate on the issues at the heart of the deployment of artificial intelligence, always with a sense of humour and… intelligence!
By offering an overview of Artificial Intelligence, its challenges and possible consequences for society – particularly in terms of human rights – Cartooning for Peace aims to encourage a critical and civic-minded approach to the development and ethical use of AI.
AN EDUCATIONAL TOOL ACCESSIBLE ONLINE FOR FREE
Cartooning for Peace aims to make this educational tool, accessible online for free, available to as many people as possible to encourage reflection, encourage free speech, develop critical thinking, and open debate on the societal and civic issues related to the development of AI.
It will consist of:
