As part of the “Cartooning Peace and Democracy” Programme supported by the European Commission, Cartooning for Peace and the association Ciné Droit Libre (CDL) offer the Burkinabe audience the opportunity to discover the work of a press cartoonist and to debate social issues.

Following the training of the Ciné Droit Libre Clubs facilitators and the Burkinabe press cartoonists last December and a first meeting in Dori, the “Cartooning Peace and Democracy in Burkina Faso” exhibition continues its itinerancy throughout the country, as are workshops with cartoonists.

As for the workshop taking place in Dori, students from schools located in the above-mentioned towns discover the exhibition and meet the cartoonists DERIS, LEDON, MAIN DE DIEU, MARTO, SAM, TIMPOUS, ZOETABA. Each workshop is followed by the screening of films programmed as part of the decentralized Ciné Droit Libre festival.

A workshop at the Koudougou Prison and Correctional Facility enable prisoners to create a collaborative mural on the theme of “Peace”: http://www.droitlibre.net/un-atelier-de-dessin-et-de-caricature-pour.html.
