From June 26 to July 8, Cartooning for Peace is in Peru for the first time, on the occasion of The International Week of Caricature and Freedom of Expression, organized by Cartooning for Peace, the City of Lima, La República newspaper, the French Embassy in Peru and the Cultural Center of Fine Arts in Lima (where the event takes place).

From Monday 25 to thursday 28, 4 days of meetings, lectures and master classes about freedom of expression are organized, in the presence of the cartoonists Vladdo (Colombia), Boligán (Mexico), Bonil (Ecuador), Rayma (Venezuela), Plantu (France) and Peruvians cartoonists : Carlin, Juan, Piero Quijano, Alvaro Karry and Portales.

The exhibition ¡Libertad para los lápices! Caricatura y libertad de expresión – (Freedom to pencils! Cartoon and Freedom of Expression) will open at the same time and will be based on various sections relating to Freedom of Expression such as self-censorship, the influence of power, the role of new technologies, etc.
