From September 2012, 19, Cartooning for Peace and the Turkish History foundation Tarih Vakfi* offer a travelling exhibition of editorial cartoons about relations between Turkey and UE. The opening will take place in Istanbul on September 2012, 19 at the Cezayir Lokantasi and meetings with CFP cartoonists will happen the same day. The exhibition includes CFP Cartoonists cartoons and editorial cartoons from Turkish archives. It relates the evolution of relations between Turkey and Europe since the 1960s.
Nicolas Vadot (Belgium), Kichka (Israel), Aurel (France), No-rio (Japan) and Turkish cartoonists Tan Oral, Semih Poroy, Piyale Madra and Izel Rozental will be there.
From 19/09/2012 to 01/10/2012 in Istanbul, the exhibition will also be presented in Brussels at the Yunus Emre Cultural Centre from 17/10/2012 to 07/11/2012.
* the Turkish History Foundation Tarih Vakfi promotes the study, research, and dissemination of history and cultural heritage in Turkey. It publishes books, organises seminars and leads projects. Examples of its activities include meetings of European and Turkish history teachers in Istanbul as well as conferences on museology and cultural heritage involving international participation.
