Cartooning for Peace has been running a pilot project for CM1-CM2 children since the beginning of the 2017/2018 school year, as part of a partnership with the Bordeaux City Council. It allows very young children to discover press cartoons and to be made aware, with humour, of major social problems and human rights.
The project is divided into 3 stages:
– Training of 15 facilitators from Bordeaux in the use of Cartooning for Peace educational kits
– Itinerancy of the educational exhibition “Cartooning for Peace” in 7 animation centres and neighbourhood houses in Bordeaux
– 15 workshops of meetings between the cartoonists of Bordeaux Cami and Visant and the children from 8 to 10 years old
In May 2018, Plantu gives two conferences in Bordeaux to end the year: one for the general public, the other for the 150 children who participated in the project with Cartooning for Peace, alongside the cartoonists Cami and Visant.
