Brexit: Theresa May’s Misfortunes

Disappointment in World Cup’s semi-finals, David Davis and Boris Johnson’s resignations, Donald Trump’s interviews: these are hard times for Theresa May, the British Prime Minister. The opposition between “soft Brexit” and “hard Brexit” stir up passions. If some ones are showing support to her, some others are talking about “high treason”. Davis and Johnson, respectively former Brexit Minister and former Minister of Foreign Affairs, left the ship after various compromises and trade partnerships with European Union. If some observers think these resignations are going to free Theresa May, we hardly believe it.

I told Theresa May how to do Brexit but she wrecked it”. With this interview in The Sun newspaper, the American president, on an official visit to London since July 12, pushes it further right after David Davis and Boris Johnson. According to him, keeping strong ties with the European Union, after the Brexit, “would probably kill the (trade) deal” with the United States. The Three Lions’ players are not the only ones to get tackled this week…
