{"id":8054,"date":"2015-07-31T08:00:22","date_gmt":"2015-07-31T07:00:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.cartooningforpeace.org\/en\/?p=8054"},"modified":"2022-09-09T12:00:24","modified_gmt":"2022-09-09T10:00:24","slug":"press-cartoonist-loup-died","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cartooningforpeace.org\/en\/press-cartoonist-loup-died\/","title":{"rendered":"Press cartoonist Loup died"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The members of Cartooning for Peace are very saddened by the death of the press cartoonist Jean-Jacques Loup who passed away on the 31st of July in Paris.<\/p>\n<p>Loup was part of Cartooning for Peace and he was \u00ab\u00a0<em>the model of what a press cartoonist should be\u00a0: someone who knows how to draw, but also someone with a true knowledge<\/em>\u00a0\u00bb, stated G\u00e9rard Vandenbroucke, President of the Limousin region and former mayor of St-Just-Le-Martel, where an international press cartoons and humor festival is organized every year.<\/p>\n<p>Jean-Jacques Loup was born in Arles in 1936 and he was a man of great talent\u00a0: architect, jazz pianist, comic book artist and caricaturist, he became a political cartoonist for \u00ab\u00a0Rebuts de press\u00a0\u00bb in the TV show \u00ab\u00a0Droit de r\u00e9ponse\u00a0\u00bb animated by Michel Polac on TF1 French channel. He also worked for numerous newspapers such as the <em>Express<\/em>,<em>Marianne<\/em>, <em>Le Nouvel Obs<\/em>, and magazines such as <em>Mormoil<\/em>, <em>Fluide Glacial<\/em> and<em>Charlie Mensuel<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>A great artist passed away, at the age of 79, but he let us his incisive cartoons.
