{"id":57337,"date":"2025-09-29T16:58:54","date_gmt":"2025-09-29T14:58:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cartooningforpeace.org\/?p=57337"},"modified":"2025-09-29T16:58:54","modified_gmt":"2025-09-29T14:58:54","slug":"cartooning-for-peace-at-the-africa-facts-summit-2025-in-dakar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cartooningforpeace.org\/en\/cartooning-for-peace-at-the-africa-facts-summit-2025-in-dakar\/","title":{"rendered":"Cartooning for Peace at the Africa Facts Summit 2025 in Dakar"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">From <strong>1 to 2 October 2025<\/strong>, Cartooning for Peace (CFP) will participate in the 4th edition of the <strong>Africa Facts Summit<\/strong> organised by the independent fact-checking organisation Africa Check.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This year&#8217;s event is being held in Dakar, Senegal, and will bring together nearly 200 fact-checkers from across the African continent for two days of discussions, synergies and networking in the fight against disinformation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On this occasion, <strong>Cartooning for Peace<\/strong> is presenting an exhibition in partnership with <strong>Africa Check, Zimfact and Balobaki<\/strong>. It is part of the \u2018<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cartooningforpeace.org\/en\/projetsint\/cartooning-for-africa-facts\/\">Cartooning for Africa Facts<\/a><\/strong>\u2019 project, implemented with the support of CFI.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It is also an opportunity to showcase <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cartooningforpeace.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/CFP-RapportFactChecking-EN.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Illustrated Fact-Checking Manual<\/a><\/strong>, produced as part of this project, to all the fact-checkers attending the summit.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Invited by <strong>Cartooning for Peace<\/strong>, <strong>Lassane Zohor\u00e9, an Ivorian<\/strong> cartoonist and member of the CFP network, co-founder and editor-in-chief of the newspaper <strong>Gbich!<\/strong>, as well as Senegalese cartoonists <strong>Odia and Tijan<\/strong>, are actively participating in the Summit by sketching the discussions and key issues as they arise.
