{"id":44832,"date":"2022-09-21T16:13:25","date_gmt":"2022-09-21T14:13:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cartooningforpeace.org\/publication-du-guide-pratique-de-protection-des-dessinateurs-de-presse-edition-2022\/"},"modified":"2023-05-16T11:38:28","modified_gmt":"2023-05-16T09:38:28","slug":"publication-du-guide-pratique-de-protection-des-dessinateurs-de-presse-edition-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cartooningforpeace.org\/en\/publication-du-guide-pratique-de-protection-des-dessinateurs-de-presse-edition-2022\/","title":{"rendered":"Publication of the Protection of editorial cartoonists practical guide (2022 edition)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The 15-month project <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cartooningforpeace.org\/en\/projects\/\"><strong>&#8220;Support to the legal protection of press cartoonists (2021-2022)&#8221; <\/strong><\/a>which received financial support from the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.unesco.org\/global-media-defence-fund\">Global Media Defence Fund<\/a> (GMDF) managed by UNESCO, had the main objective <strong>to improve the legal protection of editorial cartoonists<\/strong> and thus contribute to an environment of free, plural and quality information for citizens.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In its framework, Cartooning for Peace published <a href=\"https:\/\/www.calameo.com\/read\/002524839703582248dda\"><strong>a revised version of the Protection of editorial cartoonists practical Guide<\/strong><\/a>, its first edition dated from 2019.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"margin: 0 auto;\" src=\"\/\/v.calameo.com\/?bkcode=002524839703582248dda&amp;mode=mini\" width=\"480\" height=\"300\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"margin: 4px 0px 8px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cartooningforpeace.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/CFP-Manuel-EN_DIGITAL.pdf\"><b>Download it here<\/b><\/a><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In addition to ongoing monitoring of threats to cartoonists and support for their work in collaboration with its long-standing partners, Cartooning for Peace has organised <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/playlist?list=PLd150OdJeBMve36ReaCP88OO7lbzBAdcg\">four thematic online sessions<\/a> led by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediadefence.org\/\">Media Defence<\/a> between October and November 2021: one dedicated to Africa, one dedicated to Asia, one dedicated to Europe and one dedicated to Latin America.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The content of these sessions has been translated into <a href=\"https:\/\/www.calameo.com\/read\/00252483900d7f12b572d\"><strong>4 practical sheets<\/strong><\/a> divided by geographical region. They are <strong>made available to cartoonists and also to legal practitioners<\/strong> who may be able to assist them in their work.
