“All Migrants” at OBA Amsterdam

Last January, the Alliance Française of Amsterdam celebrated its opening in the Openbare Bibliotheek Amsterdam (OBA) ! On this occasion, a great event around press cartoon was proposed to the public, with the presentation of the exhibition “Tous Migrants !” by Cartooning for Peace, and an exceptional conference which brought together Plantu (France), president of Cartooning for Peace and cartoonist for Le Monde et l’Express and Dutch cartoonists Joep Bertrams and Tjeerd Royaards, both members of the association.

After having been presented throughout the country, the exhibition returns to Amsterdam and the walls of the OBA until 30 April 2018 a last chance to discover it!

All Migrants!” traces the complex journey of migrants through press cartoons from all over the world. From the reasons for leaving to the process of integration in a new country, not forgetting the obstacles encountered during their journey, press cartoonists analyse in a few lines this major challenge for our societies. Through the thematic panels, their pencil strokes break down prejudices, denounce the rejection of strangers and show the contribution and richness of diversity.
