2022 IN CARTOONS

Cartooning for Peace is launching its 2022 donation campaign!

Since its beginning, the organisation has been working to promote freedom of expression and the defence of human rights, in the service of democratic dialogue and peace.

In 2022, the organisation continues its fight, which is still relevant today.

3 LEVERS OF ACTION :

TO PROMOTE PRESS CARTOONS

Cartooning for Peace promotes press cartoons as a tool for information and democratic debate among the general public. As a content editor, the association creates exhibitions, publications and regular editorial collaborations in the media. As a forum for debate and ideas, it also organises events and conferences to bring together press cartoonists and the general public.

TO EDUCATE ABOUT PRESS CARTOONS

Cartooning for Peace regularly intervenes in schools, extracurricular activities and prisons. After the attacks on the editorial staff of Charlie Hebdo (2015) and the assassination of French professor Samuel Paty (2020), the organisation increased its educational activities in France and abroad. Education through and for press cartoons is at the centre of its action. The organisation offers educational content and programmes for education in freedom of expression, citizenship and information. It also offers support to professionals in the field of education through press cartoons.

TO DEFEND THREATENED CARTOONISTS

Cartooning for Peace constantly monitors the situation of press freedom in the world and provides support when necessary. A series of tools (practical guide, video sessions, conferences, roundtables) developed by Cartooning for Peace is made available to press cartoonists to enable them to protect themselves against threats and attacks and to learn about the legal framework surrounding the profession.
