Cartooning for Peace is the winner of the Media Literacy Award of International Forum of Journalism, category outside school. The Prize is awarded for an initiative on media literacy education outside school. Cartooning for Peace presents its educational action led to the Judicial Protection of Youth (PJJ) of 95.
In 2018 and in 2019, in partnership with the DRAC Ile-de-France (regional directorate of cultural actions) and the DILCRAH, Cartooning for Peace organized workshop for young people from the PJJ (judicial protection of youth) in Val d’Oise (95). These young people, aged 16 to 18, placed under the control of the courts, discover the press cartoon and engage in a dialogue about fundamental freedoms.
The meeting is articulated between the visit of the educational exhibition of Cartooning for Peace “All migrants! “and a workshop to present the work of a press cartoonist. The partnership ends with the creation of an exhibition for and by the young people of the PJJ, which is then intended to circulate in the unities of PJJ of 95. The exhibition approaches the themes of revolt, freedom, living together and utopias.
