UN General Assembly: Trump against All?

On Tuesday 25th of September, in New York, the 73rd General Assembly of the United Nations opened. Of the 193 member states, 130 representatives made the trip and came to deliver their speeches.

The assembly has already been marked by the speech of the US President Donald Trump, who, targeting multilateralism, caused general mockery when he stated that: “in less than two years, my administration has accomplished more than almost any administration in the history of our country.”

French President Emmanuel Macron, in his speech, which was the opposite of his American counterpart, denounced the “unilateralism leads directly to isolation and conflict“.

On the fringes of the assembly, the United Nations Security Council meeting was held on Wednesday 26th. The four permanent members showed their unity on the Iranian nuclear deal towards the United States, which withdrew on May and promised new sanctions against the Hassan Rohani government.
